Fun Family Session

It is the time of year that families start thinking about the annual portrait, for holiday cards or just to document how much everyone has grown. Or, in the case of my friend and fellow photographer, you may have a child who is about to leave the nest. Here is one of my favorite of the "formal" shots from her session, as well as a fun collage of her seven children.

Time Flies!

I can't believe it was a whole year ago I met little Dean-o! He has been such a joy to photograph this year. I just LOVE his sparkly eyes and sweet smile. (And if you don't believe me, check out most of my marketing materials from the last year and you'll see him on everything!!)

Pickin' Pumpkins

Mark your calendars, we are bringing the pumpkin patch to the studio this year! Will actually GREW pumpkins just for my set. Our "Pickin' Pumpkins" mini sessions will be held on Oct 5-6. Fall clothing (yes, we will have the A/C running!) with sweaters and hats, casual or fancy, or even wear a halloween costume. Miss Alex

Miss Alex came to play with me yesterday. She is 3 and SO much fun! I loved her little spunky spirit. She didn't like it too much outside, as the grass was wet, but we got some great shots in my funky old chair. When we got in the studio, she was much more animated and gave me the most amazing expressions. I really love this age (and not JUST because it is also Abby's age!). Here is a sneak peek for her mommy - who just found out she is having TWINS!! (Thus the "big sister" shirt on Alex.) I'm still editing -there were soooo many good ones - but these few really caught my eye ...

Life Works Project

I am privileged to be working with KB Homes on the Life Works Project Home Improvement Project again this year. Lifeworks is a non-profit organization that helps transition youth and families from crisis to safety and success. This is my second year to work with KB Homes to sponsor a total home remodel for a family in need. I provide a photography session and a set of portraits to help decorate the apartment. Here are a few from the session. The big "reveal" will be next Friday and I am so excited to see the transformation!

Baby A!

Meet our newest member of the Bright Beginnings Baby Club, Miss Amelie. She is so adorable! I love her big smile and sparkly eyes. She brought along her daddy, and she just lit up when he would talk to her. You can tell she is "Daddy's Girl" completely. I can't wait to watch her grow throughout her first year! Urban Kids - Models needed!

I have been working on a new style that I will unveil later this fall or winter, called Urban Kid. I need a few stylish, willing models, age 4-9 to practice on. What you get is a free creative location session and one free 8x10 print (artist's choice), plus 10% off any other prints (but there is no obligation to purchase anything). What you must agree to is to let me be creative and practice this new style. You must be willing to go to a location that I choose and also to work with me on clothing choices (you provide clothing). We are looking for a very hip, urban type of "look" a la gap or ralph lauren, lots of layers. I need at least two girls and two boys, and we may do some together. Fall Special - Family-on-the-Go!

Fall is here - well, the weather may not say so, but we ARE down in the 80's! School, football and soccer have started, and the days are getting a bit shorter. For me, fall is always hectic with holiday shopping and school activities, and I know most of you are the same. I am offering an "early bird" special to get those family portraits taken and holiday cards ordered EARLY! While the days are still long enough to do an outdoor session after work, LOL!

Baby D

Little Derek came in this week and was the sweetest baby! He was really sleepy and we got some CUTE yawns - you can't get a yawn if you WANT one most days :) And daddy had a cool tattoo!! Here is a sneak peak for mommy & daddy ...

Fun Maternity!

Well, I am a bad blogger! I completely missed posting some of Sommer's adorable maternity session before she came in to order. (Sorry, Sommer!!) But I did use one of her images at the Mommy-n-Me show last weekend and I can tell you that EVERYONE loved it! Here are a few from her session. Tattoos!!

All week I've had daddies (and daddies-to-be) that have awesome tattoos! It is so cool when they are willing to show them off :) Here is Kaci, she is due in October and is so cute! We had a great time at her session - and she was the first to break in my brand new (vintage) settee. Her hubby had a great tattoo, too!

Sweet Sisters!

I had so much fun with this pair of sisters. I photograph them a couple times each year and they get cuter and cuter. It was hard to choose just a few for the blog! Their mom brought some of the cutest stuff - I love it when clients bring in cool ideas! Here is a sneak for mom ...

Colby Lynn is 6 months!

Time just FLIES with my Bright Beginnings babies. It seems like little Miss Colby Lynn was just here for her teeny portraits and now she is already six months old. And such a cutie-pie! She modeled my brand-new baby onesies that I had made for all my Bright Beginnings babies. So if you are thinking about joining, it's just one more COOL perk you get for being a member. All in the Family

One of my fellow MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) mommies just had a new baby, and I was lucky enough to get to photograph him. This is Turner, who is only 12 days old, and oh-so-perfect! His mommy brought along his new baby cousin, Langley, who is only a few weeks older than him so that we could get some special portraits of the two of them together. Aren't they just adorable?? And just as quiet and sleepy as can be, just how we like them :) Lastly, we also got some cute shots of Langley and her big brother, Grayson. He is so handsome and I'm sure he is going to be a great big brother! Here is a sneak peek for both mommies. Notice how little Turner is SMILING. I love it when I can capture a newborn smiling, just brings joy to my heart. I love my job!!

Sweet, Sweet Baby!

I just feel so honored when one of my clients refers me out to a friend. This is Harry. His mommy is friends with Dean's mommy, who referred her to me. Thanks, Ann!! Harry is such a sweet baby!
