Fun on the Beach

Our family has enjoyed our week at the beach. We'll be back down in Galveston in August, for those of you wanting a beach portrait of your own (with less of a drive). Call for more info.

Mini Fun! Austin Children's Photographer

Pretty Miss Laura came in this past week for a mini session, to celebrate being FIVE! She was days away from a big surgery to remove her adnoids (and possibly her tonsils) and mom wanted to capture her sweet spirit before the big day. We had a great time laughing, jumping and playing, showing off her precious personality. Here are a few highlights!

The "F" family visited me recently for a session. Lots of excitment in their lives right now. They wanted to focus on little K since it was just her birthday recently. But also, she is going to be a big sis soon! J & S are expecting a baby boy soon! Isn't she a cute pregnant mommy? I can't wait to meet the new little guy when he arrives!
We had lots of fun with little K exploring our creek and loving the outdoors. Fortunately it was early enough that we beat the heat, too! Here are a few of my faves ...

I think this one is my total favorite from the session. Even though she isn't looking, it shows off her curiousity and her sweet eyelashes and lips and cheeks. Such a beauty!

Mr T is TWO! Austin Children's Photographer

Tristan, one of my favorite little guys and graduates of our Bright Beginnings club, just turned TWO! And to celebrate, his mommy enrolled him in our Leap & Bounds club. I'm so excited he'll be joining us on his birthday every year til he is FIVE!! Whooo-hooo! (For more info on the Leaps & Bound club, be sure to check our website, http://www.masonphoto.net/).
We had a ton of fun traipsing around the creek and property. This age is so much fun to capture outdoors. They are curious and want to just run and explore. Mr. T still loves his mommy, though, and I just love the interaction between them. AND I noticed that Miss Amy dressed herself to be photographed, because I am *notorious* for dragging moms into photos with their children :) Here are a few of my faves from his 2-year session ...

Sweet Rylie - Austin Baby Photographer

You'll remember Rylie, she came in for a newborn session a few months ago. We are so happy that she has joined our Bright Beginnings - Baby's First Year club. We'll get to share in her fabulous first year! Here she is at her four month session. Since we base our sessions on stages, not ages, the first one features that "pushing up on tummy" stage that is soooo cute! And of course at this age all babies want to do is eat their hands - getting ready to start teething - so we got several adorable images of Rylie with her hands in her mouth. Happy 50th Anniversary! Austin Family Photographer

I had the extreme pleasure of working with the Lopez family recently. The grown children surprised their mom & dad with a wonderful 50th anniversary gift - an extended family portrait session! We traveled to Horseshoe Bay resort for the session. WOW is it gorgeous out there. Hmmmm, guess where OUR next family weekend is going to be??? Anyway, it was super fun working with each of the families, then seeing the surprise of Mom & Dad when they realized we were going to do a large group photo, that was icing on the cake.

Garrett, Our latest graduate! Austin Baby Photographer

I have loved spending this past year watching Mr. Garrett grow. It has literally flown by! And Garrett was an early walker, so it's really gone fast - seems like when they walk by 8-9 months, they want to experience it ALL *right now* and makes time go even faster.
For his one year session, he is sporting the family tradition "little blue suit." All the little men in their family for generations have been photographed in this suit at one year. Isn't it adorable?? Then, onto his casual look, I love the little john-john. Then a cupcake smash!! FUN! And Lynn, my kids were SO EXCITED that you left extra cupcakes for them to enjoy. You are definitely on their list of mommy's top clients!! Here are a few of my faves from this exciting session ...

And of course, a storyboard to commemorate all that growth. Hard to believe he's already on his way to toddlerhood!

Wild Wednesday Mini Sessions!

Boy, summer has come upon us in a big way! We are nearing the 100-degree mark, and it isn't even "officially" summer. (Whoever decided that date, was definitely NOT from Texas!!) In celebration of SUMMER we are having some great specials that you won't want to miss!
Wild Wednesdays will be held twice a month at Teri Mason Photography. We'll be offering studio, outdoor and even a couple of location dates (think Urban Kids!!) on select Wednesdays this summer. The session is short and sweet - but anyone who has been photographed by me before knows that I can ROCK a session in very little time - and the fee is even sweeter!! Only $75 includes the mini session for up to TWO subjects (additional peeps only $25 ea) AND includes a 4x10 "cutie" collage with three images. WOW! It's a great way to celebrate a birthday, feature a school-ager (because, come on, those school pics REALLY don't capture their personality, do they??), a set of best friends, or even just to have some fun, different images. PLUS - these sessions will have an online gallery for image selection!!
Our first Wild Wednesday will be June 17. That is coming up quick! We've already invited our Facebook friends (another great reason to friend us on FB!!), so a few spots are already reserved. This time we will be in the studio. Upcoming session dates are July 1 (outdoors at the studio) and July 15 (both in-studio AND downtown/urban or RR tracks). Interesting Article, and Why I watermark your images online...

A fellow photographer brought this article to my attention. Often I get asked why I put my logo across any images I show online. Most think it is just so that the images aren't "swiped" before they are purchased. While I do support my family with income from my images, my main reason for the "watermarking" of images with my logo is for protection - both yours and mine.
The article tells the story of a family whose image turned up in Prague on a grocery store advertisement - all because the image was posted online with no watermark. You can read the full story here. Luckily, the image was used in a benign way, not something seedy. But here at our studio, you can be sure that any images shared online will be watermarked, for your protection and mine!

Birthday Fun - Austin Children's Photographer

We've had several "big-kid" birthdays come in to the studio lately. It is really fun to have a session all to themselves, and a super cool art piece to hang in their room. We're going to be announcing a fun special for the summer that would be perfect for this type of session. We'll be announcing to our Facebook "friends" and "fans" first, so if you haven't yet, you might want to add us (hint, hint).
Here are Elle and Aaron, both turned 7 this year! No, they are not related!! But they are both so darn cute! I especially love how Aaron "caught air" in his jump. I always ask the kids this age to jump, but he REALLY jumped!!

Another Baby Graduate - Austin Baby Photographer

And here is Sam, he and Carson are just days apart, and it has been a blast to watch them grow. It's especially fun to have babies so close together because they end up being so different - walking, talking, teething all at different times. Reminds me how each of us has our own uniqueness, even from a tiny age.
