Queens Don't Toot!

This is the funny title of an adorable new book, written by two local Georgetown women. A mother and daughter team, Sandy Dronet (owner of She, Etc International Spa) and Shawn Trotter, the book is an amusing lesson on etiquette for little girls. But it is so cute for any age!
I had the pleasure of photographing them for the book jacket last week, then they decided to bring in two more beautiful generations of their family. You all know how near and dear "generational" portraits are to my heart, so I was thrilled to capture this group of gorgeous women and their adorable youngest, Maddie. Here are a few of my faves from their session...

And the book jacket image...
If you have a little queen in your life who would enjoy this book, you can purchase your own copy by clicking here. Would make a darling holiday gift. I know one little girl (my Abigail) is going to be getting a (hopefully signed) copy!!

Sweet and New

Meet little J - isn't he perfect? Just the sweetest little newborn, and I had the honor of photographing him this week. Also his gorgeous Mommy and big sister, L. This little guy is going to get a lot of love! Here are a few of my faves - there are more than usual because I did a mini-session of L while J was nursing! My lucky day to have such a pretty girl to photograph during my usual "down time."

Summer Fun!

The "C" family came out recently for a session on our gorgeous ten-acre studio property. Rain has been quite scarce, so the grass wasn't the green I would love, but we had a good time anyway. Well, except for the one "ant" incident - shhhh :) What a loving family! I know it must be tough to wrangle two teen boys (not to mention a dad!) for a photo session, but they were great sports. Such gorgeous kids, too! Here is a sneak peek for Sarai and all the friends at the hospital, who I know must be curious :)

And since it's "almost" that time of year, I put together a holiday card. I thought these images worked great with the colors of this card!

Not-quite-a-newborn...

But still just as sweet and precious! Meet Chloe. Her grandmother was my son's Kindergarten teacher last year. When we found out she was going to be a grandmother (again) we were so excited and invited her to bring in the new bundle of joy. You all know my affinity for photos of multiple generations, so I was so excited that she also brought along her daughter. Chloe was full of giggles and grins, then she ate and fell asleep. So we got the best of both worlds in her session. Just a real joy to work with! Here are a few of my faves...

Isn't this the cutest? Chloe's room is all "sheep" themed and grandma ("Mrs. Pitts" to our family) made her the most luxurious quilt. Each of the squares on this collage is part of the quilt or bedding. Isn't it beautiful? I told her that if I (gasp) ever have another one, I'm hiring her to make a quilt for me!!

Lil Chunk!

Little Miss Maddie is so darn cute! And such a little chunk of a baby! Of course, her mommy & daddy know how much I love her and that I mean that affectionately :) She is just the sweetest little thing and is growing so fast. I first met her as a newborn and have enjoyed watching her progress so far this first year. Here is her 8 month session in our Bright Beginnings club. She is already standing quite well and I just sense that she will be walking well before our next session at age one. And you know, those rolls will disappear when she gets really mobile, so we will have to enjoy them right now! Here are a few of my faves from this session ...

This one just makes me giggle. This age is all about the mouth - putting things into the mouth, exploring the newly discovered tongue. What a hoot!!

Parents often ask me when is the best time for a family portrait with their new little one. I think this age (between 6-9 months) is so great because they have fun expressions, and they aren't quite mobile yet! Many times families wait til after age one, and that is really the hardest time because the newly mobile toddlers do NOT want to sit still or be held for a photo. I think this one turned out great and will look awesome on the wall!

Class of '09 - Molly

Meet our first senior for class of 2009 - Molly! Isn't she GORGEOUS?? We had a blast traipsing around Georgetown for her session. Molly will be a "Model" for our studio at her high school this year, which means she will promote us to her friends and earn some of her photos for FREE. We still have openings for a few schools in the area, so if you are interested in earning some FREE senior pictures, plus some cold, hard CASH, give us a call at 930-1902.

Sweet Adelaide!

Little Adelaide is one of our Bright Beginnings Babies and she is just adorable! Check out those dimples!! Her second session, around 8 months, was last week and she brightened up my day! She started out a little shy but soon warmed right up. I think this age, sitting up but not yet crawling, is (maybe) my very favorite stage to photograph. Babies have really developed a personality and want to interact with you. Peek-a-boo and patty cake are great fun at this age, as is any toy that makes a cool noise. Plus, I get to sing and no one howls :) Here are a few of my faves from the session ...

This one may be my very favorite. It would be so cute in her bedroom. I know my Abby has the letter "A" all over her room. For some reason, I just love the letter A.

Ann & Jeremy

I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely couple whose wedding I will capture this fall. They are from out of town, so we had a full weekend of sessions - a bridal on Friday and an engagement on Saturday! Ann is going to be such a beautiful bride! Jeremy is one lucky guy!
Here are a few faves from each session...
