Sweet Baby C!

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! This little guy was the perfect newborn client. Calm and sleepy the whole time, no matter what crazy position I put him in, plus gorgeous parents (and grandmother, too!!). I have to put this up with my top ten sessions, for sure! Here are a few of my faves...

This rattle has been in the family for generations!
I'm sure this little guy is going to be a hunk, since both his mommy AND his grandmother are sooo pretty!

Brotherly Love

I had the pleasure of photographing the "S" boys last week. They were all very good boys and super handsome. Their mom told me, "They are much cuter than the Jonas brothers" and I have to agree! They were definitely "all boy" and getting them to all cooperate at the same time was quite a feat, but I think they all liked me by the end, and I know Mom is going to be thrilled with all the wonderful images we created together. Well, that, and they knew they were getting lollipops when we were done, LOL! Anyway, here are a few of my faves - I captured more than normal because they were so fun and each had their own special personalities!

Ahh, the joy of being a parent...

I don't often blog about personal things in my life, but tonight I feel compelled. My son's school had a pep rally of sorts today, to "fire up" the kids about a fundraiser. Personally, I despise fundraisers like this, where the kids have to "sell" something. What it means is that the PARENTS have to pester THEIR friends and co-workers to buy some random item. Well, of course most of our friends ALSO have kids in the same school (where we also attend church) so that takes out most everyone we could sell to, right? And my family would rather just give a monetary donation than order ANOTHER magazine! I just wish there was a box to check "donation enclosed" and let it go at that. Instead I have a very hyped-up almost-7-yr old who is DYING to "earn" a build-a-bear thing.
So, dear readers, I am going to simply ask that IF you are in the market for a magazine subscription (and I can vouch for the Princess magazine, and Highlights for kids, as I ordered those last year) for yourself, your child, or a loved one, take a moment to click this link to go directly to my boy's "selling page" and type in this school ID# 985226 And please, forgive me if you are offended by this blatant begging for support :)
And just so we don't have a post with no images, here is my sweet son and his daddy, taken a couple years ago, by the late, great Monte Zucker.

Just under the wire ...

The beautiful Michele and her sweet hubby came in today (yes, I occasionally work on the weekend, LOL) for a maternity session. I say just under the wire because Michele *may* be going on bedrest next week to ensure her baby arrives nice and healthy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her (and saying a little prayer) that she doesn't have any REASONS to go on bedrest - but of course, I recommend bedrest BEFORE the baby arrives, as most don't get ANY rest once they are born!!
I am so glad we could work it out so that she was able to come in for these special portraits. They were so much fun to work with. We even broke out the angel wings!! Good times! I can't wait to meet their little guy when he makes his appearance in a month or so. Here are a few of my faves from the session ...

If Victoria's Secret had a maternity division, Michele would surely qualify!

Turner Turns One!

Isn't he just adorable! And talk about a good CAKE-SMASHER! His mom said that they called his real birthday cake "Pound Cake" because he pounded it into the ground. He did that here, too. Having two big brothers might just have *something* to do with it. That, and the fact that he is not only walking, but running by now. Here are some fun faves from his session, as well as a funny outtake...

Sweet Erin

My great intern, Erin, is leaving today to go back to Texas A&M. She got her braces off this week and got a nice tan, so we snagged a few images before she heads out. Isn't she gorgeous? I'm really going to miss her! Hopefully she will be very busy with her budding photography business - she wants to concentrate on engagements in & around Bryan/College Station. So anyone who needs a great photographer in that area, let me know and I'll get you in touch!
Thanks, Erin, for a great summer!!

One perfect year!

Little Harry - not so little anymore, but sweeter than ever! This family is just so wonderful, it has been a joy to be a part of their lives this past year. And it has flown by! Harry just came in for his one year session - he's now a graduate of our Bright Beginnings club. I'm going to miss seeing him every few months, but hopefully his mommy will enroll him in our Leaps & Bounds club, so I can be sure to keep track of his progress through toddler hood. Here are a few of my faves from his one year session ...

It was a riot trying to get these "letter" images. Harry thought it was great fun to hurl them onto the floor before I could pick up my camera. Good thing I'm pretty fast ... :)

Double the Love

I was so excited to have these precious twin girls come in last week for their first portrait session. They are the perfect little angels of Charlene, whose maternity I photographed several weeks ago. They were both so sweet - with definite personalities already! Little J slept the whole time, while Miss M was wide eyed up until the last few minutes. Charlene hinted that she may enroll them in the Bright Beginnings club - I sure hope so, it would be so much fun to watch them progress through their first year. Well, she is already going to have a hard time choosing, so no pressure :) Here are a few of my (many) favorites...

Here is my famous "make it look like they were both asleep" when little M yawned and closed her eyes!

And a sweet "first family portrait" of all four. Both girls so secure in daddy's arms!

Having Fun at the Beach

Yes, for those of you with preschoolers, that is the name of a Wiggles' song. All the time I was processing this session, it was stuck in my head. My kids have almost outgrown Greg, Murray, Anthony and Jeff (not totally, though) but spending a week photographing sessions on the beach really had me singing along with this song! We did have a LOT of fun. I'll be posting some of the sessions as I get them proofed.
Here is a sneak peek for my blog model - you can see her up above in the header, with little Cash as a newborn, two years ago. Now he is a "big boy" and so handsome. Took him a little while to warm up to me (and to the idea of the beach - it was his first time to see it!) but once he got going, it was non-stop two year old fun! Here are a few of my faves (and believe me, Beth, you are going to have a HARD time, as there are soooo many goood ones) ...
