HaleyCurls! Benefit this Saturday

Many of you will remember little Haley, my little client who has been dealing with a very rare disorder called HistioCytosis. I blogged about her last year and many of you sent lots of prayers. I recently photographed Haley and her family again to help promote an upcoming fundraiser. As you can imagine, costs associated with the many trips to the hospital, round after round of chemo, traveling out of town to Houston for doctor visits, etc, the costs have really become a mountain. This weekend there will be a fundraiser for little Haley. For more information, please click the flyer below. Prayerfully consider attending, bidding on some items, or even just making a donation, if you cannot attend. Details are on the flyer!

So Excited!! The Nest Baby!!

I just had to share my excitement. A few weeks ago a fellow local photographer won first place in a contest at The Nest (an online site for mommy & mommy-to-be's). One of the prizes was a professional photo shoot, and she chose me to capture her family. Today the new site is up and my image is on the front page!! Whoo-hoo! Be sure to click the link above and take a minute to leave some comments!

Family Fun!

The C family came in this week for a session. Little K was not giving up the smiles for me, not for love or money, LOL. She was a tough cookie, that is for sure. Luckily mom pulled out some bubbles to improve the mood, then we got out some fun boxes and flower petals. That was good for a smile or two! "Not-quite-two" is such a hard age to photograph, but we got some really fun captures. We are planning a watercolor painting of one of K's individual images. It's going to look amazing in their home! Here is a sneak peek for mom & dad...

A Perfect 10!

Meet Cailyn, a sweet little newborn I photographed this week. Only 3 days old, she was just so perfect - she did not whimper, cry or even fuss one bit. AND she didn't even tinkle on anyone!! (Moral of the story?? Call me from the hospital!!) Her parents are truly blessed with such a beautiful, tiny thing. Here are a few of my faves from the session...
There's nothing as rewarding as a newborn SMILE!

We even got some great alert images. Love this baby!!

Miracle Baby!

Meet little Kacie B. She is truly a miracle baby, she arrived VERY early and spent a few weeks in the NICU. But she is home now and what a sweetie! She came to see me on her 7th week "birthday" and was just a joy. Kacie is the baby sister of Natalie, one of our Bright Beginnings graduates. Big sis was so cute with her, too! I know this little sweetie will be VERY loved by her two big brothers (who were away at grandma's) and Natalie. Here are a few of my faves...

Gig 'Em Aggies!!

Wait, did *I* say that? Well, I AM a die-hard Texas Longhorn fan, but the S family is just awesome, and, obviously, they are A&M fans. I'm sure we can get past that one teensy difference :) They have such a gorgeous, loving family. It was a joy working with them. I am just IN LOVE with Teri's red hair (and what a great name, too!!). This was a terrific outdoor session here at the studio. Here are a few of my favorites...

I just love how these look displayed together. I think it would make a wonderful wall gallery in their home!

Portraits on the Beach!

It's summertime, and it's HOT. Let's head to the beach and have some fun. Building sandcastles, frolicking in the waves, these are memories that will last a lifetime. And they make wonderful portraits!
Teri will be in Galveston from August 1 through 5 creating timeless portraits for your family. Only two sessions per day are available - sunrise and sunset - so call today to reserve your spot! 930-1902.

Rockin' Ryker

Little Ryker came in for his first ever portrait session last week. Dad had an awesome rock-n-roll hairstyle. Both mom and dad were very laid back and hip (I like to think I used to be hip!!). Anyway, Ryker was awesome. A very cool baby, laid back, very sleepy. Only cried a teeny bit when he was hungry (and who can blame him!) and was a joy to photograph. Here is a sneak peek for mom & dad, who waited patiently while I took a nice, long 4-day weekend from posting!

I just love when I can capture a big yawn! Ryker's was just precious!

This is definitely my favorite from the session. Mom and dad are so in love. I just dig the emotion portrayed here. I hope they choose this as a wall portrait for their home!

Independence Day

Today I had the pleasure of photographing a brand new baby of a returning client. The Van Zandt family brought their tiny treasure, "S," in to see me, along with big sis, "A." Their daddy is active military but got a few days to come home for the birth of baby S. I am so honored to share in the joy of this family.
Before I share some of the wonderful images, I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to both Lance and to all the other brave men and women who are out there protecting our freedom. With our country's Independence day upon us once again, and the negativity that has been in the news, I just want to recognize the sacrifice these folks are making for us. They allow me to stay here and do a job that I love, and allow me the freedom to not worry at night that my children are safe. And they even allow those who might disparage our great country to say the things they do. It's called FREEDOM, and I am so thankful to live in this great country and to have the amazing, selfless military (and their spouses!!) that continue to fight for that freedom.

Here are some star-spangled newborn favorites. Happy July 4th!!
