Becoming a Family - Austin Family Photographer

I had the extreme pleasure of photographing the Smith family recently. They have such a special story. Their newly adopted son, "E" has just joined them from Ethiopia. Adoption is very special to me, as both my mom and two of my brothers are adopted, so when Kendall called me and wanted me to document her first Mother's Day, I was elated! Baby E is such a sweetheart - all smiles and giggles. He especially loved playing in the fishbowl (no real fish were hurt in the creation of these images, LOL). I know they are patiently waiting for a sneak peek, so here are a few of my faves. Thanks again for sharing this special time with me!

Welcome Back - Austin Newborn Photographer

Most of you know I've been out of town for a week at an amazing week-long photography "school" that I attend every year. I spent a fabulous week with Jeff & Julia Woods, from Illinois, learning about many things, related to both photography and life. My biggest "thing" is BALANCE. They have an amazing business, four children that they homeschool, and a wonderful marriage. My goal for the remainder of 2009 is to achieve and maintain a better balance, be a better mom, and continue to provide the top-notch service to you, my loyal clients! It's going to be great!!
As my welcome-back-to-work post, I want to share the beautiful new Miss K. I had the pleasure of photographing her big brother when he was two weeks old. Miss K is only 5 days!! She was a great baby - totally sleepy at first, then wide awake and alert for some later. She let me put her in all sorts of poses. Now, Big Brother W, that was another story - but completely expected at his age of 1 1/2. Did not want to play the photo game, but we did get a few great images of him, too. Here are a few of my faves from the session ...

Isn't big brother handsome???

Happy Mother's Day

Just a quick shout-out to all the wonderful mommies that I've worked with over the years. Being a mom is the best job in the whole world! I'm blessed to be a mom to Liam & Abby, they fill my life with joy and adventure. And of course, a shout out to my own sweet mother, who I've grown even closer to as my motherhood adventure has progressed.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

And since a blog post is boring without a photo, here is one of my kids and me, taken by my good friend Laura Wootan, a few weeks ago.

Lovely Ladies - Austin Family Photographer

Here is another "T" family - that has grown by one since I last saw them! Catherine brought her sweet girls in to see me for a "Mommy & Me" session. Aren't they all gorgeous? I loved meeting little baby E and enjoyed seeing Miss M again, too! She's grown so much since last time!
Here are a few of my faves from the session.

Girls & Puppies, Oh My! - Austin Family Photographer

I had the extreme pleasure of photographing the May family recently. They are such a gorgeous family, each girl with her own special "look" and beauty. Add to that another of my favorite things - PUPPIES! And doxie pups, to boot (my fave!!). But it is true what they say about working with children and animals, LOL. Those pups were on their own mission ... Add in the mom & dad dogs, we had five people and five dogs. I'm so proud of myself for achieving an "everyone looking at the camera" image!!
I have a ton (TON!) of faves, but here is a highlight. Carmen, I hope you have a nice sized wall, as you are definitely going to need a showcase gallery! Thanks for a fun session!

You can see where these girls got their beauty!

Daddy & his girls. Better get that shotgun cleaned, Rob, these girls are gorgeous!

Awww, look at those faces!!!

Love this Family! Austin Family Photographer

I'm sure by now you recognize the T family. I have only known them for just over a year, but have grown very fond of them!! I especially love Cheri, we have kind of become friends, although as moms it is hard to "get together" to really visit. (Cheri, we need a girls' night!) She is always there with a kind word for me!!
Anyway, she brought in the "3Ks" recently for a Mommy & Me session. Don't they look adorable? She has styled them so well for this session! We started in the studio but quickly decided to go outside, since K3 (little Kohen) wanted to just crawl all over the studio, LOL. Of course, we were supposed to be doing Mommy & Me, but I couldn't resist a few of the three Ks together, and some (alot) of each K alone. I really don't know how she is going to choose, there are so many good ones. But she is such a great cheerleader for me, I may just have to give her a little something extra special :) Here are a few of the (many) faves...

PromPalooza! Austin Senior Photographer

I had the great pleasure of working with a group of lovely girls last weekend. They had a "princess prom party" and I photographed them. We were limited to indoors, as the location had NO shade and it was midday, but we made some great images with what we had available. LOVE that vintage couch. I know they have been waiting, so here is their slideshow. Enjoy!

Daddy's Boy - Austin Children's Photographer

You may remember Gavin from earlier this year - he came in with his beautiful sister, for her model session. He was in recently with his daddy and we got some amazing, artistic images. I am just in love with all three of these, and I know they are waiting patiently to see them on the blog. Thanks, guys!!

The "L" children - Austin Childrens Photographer

I've been photographing the L children for several years now, I think since Miss A was about 6 months old! Now that little S is almost one, they came in for a session with all three kiddos. (S has been in our Bright Beginnings Baby Club, and will "graduate" in a few weeks!!) They were so much fun to work with. I had to laugh because big brother D was so funny with his baby. I sat them together and said "Play with him" so he put up his dukes and started play boxing. I just about fell over laughing. Guess I'm just too girly, I expected patty cakes or something, LOL. Anyway, here are a few of my faves from their session...

Mr G - Austin Family Photographer

The last time I saw little "G" was, well, I guess I didn't SEE him, he was in his gorgeous mommy's tummy! Fast forward 18 months and they came in to see me. That is such a difficult age, especially in the afternoon. We got a good idea that he did not want to play with us - exploring the studio was MUCH more fun. Luckily, I have some really fun toys! Suffice it to say, we got some cute images, and we got a really fun outtake :) Here are a few of my faves ...

and this means "I'M DONE!"
