I met this sweet family last year when they came in for bunny photos. Now there is a new addition, a precious little brother. At age 2, a new baby can be a challenge, but I think everyone is adapting well. We got some great images, I know mom is going to be excited to see them! Here are a few of my faves...

She was just in a few weeks ago for a Generations session with her mom, grandma and great-grandma. This time we focused on just Maddie. What a cutie pie. Here are a few of my favorites (there were so many!!)

We Have a Winner!!
Wow this was so tough! We had several really heart-felt entries from friends, daughters and husbands. Choosing was difficult, but we do have a winnner. I'm excited to announce that Candle Hernandez will receive a gift package including a Mary Kay Makeover and a portrait session and silver charm, plus a 5x5 brag album from Teri Mason Photography. Candle was nominated by her friend Rachelle Couchman. Here is the letter she shared with us:
I would like to nominate my friend Candle Hernandez. She is a 29 year old single Mom who has been divorced for several years now. She has two wonderful children Paige (8) and Marcus (6). Candle has a cleaning business and goes to nursing school at the same time because she wants more for her children. I don't know about you, but cleaning up other people's messes does not make you feel all that pretty. She has worked hard to give her children a strong sense of morals and provide a well balanced home life. I know it is not always easy for single moms to justify getting portraits of your caliber done because financially the needs outweigh the wants. She even lives at home with her Mom not necessarily because she can't afford to live alone, but because
she helps take care of her stepfather who has kidney failure due to diabetes. I have gone to church with her since high school and I have seen her grow into a beautiful positive woman. I know that if I were in her shoes I would not have been able to stay in the will of God
the way that she has. She truly has a servant's heart. She is always wanting to help anyone in need, and is always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. I think she is just wonderful. I want her to know how beautiful she really is. Please consider her for the portrait session!
I am excited to photograph Candle and her children. I feel honored to share with this loving woman in honor of Mother's Day!
I'd also like to honor our other entrants with a half-price session. I will be contacting you privately to share this gift with you. Thank you to everyone who nominated a deserving mother!

Little Hero
Meet little B. His daddy is proudly protecting our country in Iraq, and his mommy wanted some special patriotic newborn images. B was the best little baby - slept the whole time, even gave me a HUGE grin!! Mom brought in some great props to honor Daddy - we hoped to put little B in his helmet, but he was a bit big!! Anyway, a big THANK YOU to B's Daddy for his service to our country! And here are a few of my favorites from the session...

Celebrate MOM - a CONTEST!!
Mother's Day is just around the corner. I'd love to honor all the wonderful moms out there, but there is only one of me :) So I thought I'd have a contest! One mommy will win a FREE portrait session (with or without her children), complete with a makeover from Mary Kay Cosmetics, plus a sterling silver charm to wear on a necklace, featuring a photo from the session AND a 5x5 brag book of images!
To nominate a deserving mom, send an email to studio@masonphoto.net and tell us why you think she should win. It doesn't have to be your own mom - if you have a good friend who needs and deserves this prize, feel free to nominate! Or a wife! Just needs to be someone's mom!
I can't wait to read the entries! We will choose a mom on Thursday, May 8, by 10pm, so entries need to be in by noon on that date. Good luck!!

Bluebonnets!
The B family came out for one of our bluebonnet sessions a couple weeks ago. (Sorry so late on the preview, Jennifer!!) While the flowers weren't their usual fullness, they were still gorgeous and we had a lot of fun. I can't believe little miss N is so big now. She is a graduate of our Bright Beginnings Baby Club, and it was so great to get to photograph her big brothers, D and B. Here are a few of my faves from my session...

Super H!
Little Harry is one of our Bright Beginnings members. It's so much fun watching all the changes in a baby's first year. Harry wasn't as smiley this time, he was more interested in holding onto his mommy - which is very typical at this age. We still managed to get several great shots! Here are a few of my faves ...
Growing Family
I had the pleasure of meeting the T family last week. They are expecting their third baby soon and wanted to capture the family as it is now, plus a few maternity images. They are all so photogenic! K & K were both so cute, and I know will be such a big help to mom when the new baby (little K) arrives. Here are a few of my faves from the session ...
Baby N!
Sweet Baby N - he was so alert for a newborn! Did NOT want to sleep, LOL. But he was still super sweet and so adorable. I think we finally wore him out because at the end of the session we had a few BIG yawns. Bet he slept ALL the way home :)
Big Brother E was cute, too, but he was having very little interest in being photographed. I was able to capture a few great shots of the two brothers before E went outside with his uncle to see all our farm animals. Here are a few of my faves from the session...
