Just one for Chef James... Austin Children's Photographer

I'm not sure if this is still a secret.... but I had the "R" grandbabies in for a session today. Even though I am headed out of town, I had to sneak a peek at the images. This one really jumped out at me! So much so that I added it to my website splash page! I'll post more when I return from Ozona, but here is just one of my faves, for little Layla's daddy ...

Last of 2008

It's been a whirlwind holiday season, but we finished with a bang today. The "B" family came in while daddy was on leave from his military duties. I am always so honored and thankful to photograph a military family. What they do for us, by fighting for and protecting our country's freedoms, is the most amazing sacrifice. A huge THANK YOU to Sean and all the brave men and women who are defending our freedoms!
Little "H" just turned one and is a real cutie-pie! She LOVED the piano (that has been the BEST prop - a shout out to Laura O who donated it - thanks again) and of course, her daddy's dogtags were the best chewie for those emerging teeth. Here are a few of my faves from the session.
Merry Christmas!!

This vintage gown was worn by not only little "H," but also her mom, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. WOW! She let me know that the dress is 100 years old this year!

National Model Search!

I'm so excited to be a participating studio in the National Charity Model Search! Your child could be the winner of a $5000 savings bond and many other prizes, plus the chance to be seen by national modeling agents. The best part, though, is that the proceeds from the contest go to a great charity, Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep. Click the link to read more about this amazing organization, headed by photographer Sam Puc.

We'll be photographing children in January for the contest. The fee for your mini-session and entry into the contest is only $25!! The contest is for children, tot to teen. We're already booking sessions, so call today to reserve your spot!! 930-1902

Gorgeous Kids!

I had the pleasure of photographing one of our local basketball players and her brothers yesterday. They were all so gorgeous! Definitely a fun session with such great models. And we beat the cold front by a few hours, so it was still pretty and warm outside. Yay!! Here are a few of my faves, although I took a LOT so Tammy, get ready, you're going to want them all :)

Last Minute Gift Idea - Desk Calendars!

Still stumped on what to get your grandmother who lives in the care center? Or that hard-to-please hubby? How about a desk calendar featuring your precious family? Once again we are offering a CD Desk calendar to any client who has had a session this year. Featuring 13 of your session images, the calendar opens up to sit on a desk or shelf, and only takes up a few inches of space! It's the gift that keeps on giving, all year long!
Calendars are only $49 for one, $25 for duplicates, plus a small design fee. Call us this week to have them in hand before the holiday!

the B family

I met the B family two years ago when Liam and "C" were on the same soccer team. We've gotten to know them pretty well through Upward basketball and soccer for several seasons. I was honored to create a family portrait for them last week. Little "S" took a bit to warm up to me (she fell asleep in the car!) but once she did, it was all smiles. I think they turned out so nice, what a good looking family!

This one is my favorite! The look on C's face is priceless!!! Love it!

Mallorie the Brave

This cute little thing is an actress, and she has auditioned for one of my FAVORITE characters - RAMONA!! Any of you know the Ramona series by Beverly Cleary? Those were some of my all-time favorite books - both to read as a child, to read to my students as a teacher, and to read now to my children. I'm rooting for her to get the part, so exciting!

In the studio, she was a dream! Lots of cool outfits, could pose like a pro. We had a fun time, you could tell she has been in front of the camera a lot. But her face REALLY lit up when I pulled out a pettiskirt! I think that was the most fun of the whole morning :) These are a few of my faves, and I know her mom has been waiting anxiously... Thanks, Margie, for your patience :)

Home for the Holidays

The holidays are a time for families to reconnect, usually around a lovely meal or a decorated tree. I was honored to photograph a large, extended family this Thanksgiving. We had an outdoor setting planned, and low-and-behold, woke up to pouring rain and COLD (this, after a week of highs in the upper 70s- ugh!). Thank goodness we had a backup plan! We met at Silver & Stone restaurant and Chef James Ramsey was kind enough to let us use their front dining room - even let me move tables, furniture and plants all over the place (thanks, James!)
I know this family has been anxious to see their sneak peek. I appreciate their patience, since editing a session such as this is more like working on six sessions (each family being it's own, plus the large group). Here are a few of my faves from the session. Enjoy!

Haley is a Big Sister!

This is the "B" family, one of the sweetest families I have met in a really long time. They first came to see me a few years ago, and have been an inspiration to me on an almost daily basis. Their precious daughter, Haley, has been through a lot in her short life, and Heather's positive attitude and faith in God have kept her strong for her family - and have impacted others like myself in a very positive way. You can read more about Haley on her caring bridge site.
They came to see me recently to celebrate the upcoming birth of their third child, and then for her newborn images. Baby "R" is a delightful little thing, very calm (except when hungry!). We captured some amazing images of Heather, Randy and their newest addition. Miss Haley graced us with a few, but she was much more interested in being TWO than doing pictures with me :)

Anyway, here are a few of my faves, and some that they ordered, better late than never! (Sorry, Heather!!)

Big Brother in Training

I first met the "D" family, gosh, almost four years ago when Becky was pregnant with little "E." Then again when he was just about six weeks old.
He sure has grown up to be a handsome little man, and oh, that red hair!
They came to see me again this week, as they are expecting a second little "E" in January. I feel so honored that they chose me to capture this amazing time in their lives. I can't wait to meet the second "E" soon, and I know that big "E" is going to be an awesome big brother! Here are a few of my faves from their session...
