Sweet Nailah Aunjel - I just LOVE that name! Isn't she just adorable? So serious, I can tell she is going to be a smart girl. She was completely wide-eyed the entire session, and nary a peep out of her, even when she started to get hungry. Of course mom and dad were both so amazingly gorgeous that it just made my job so easy! I love the skin-on-skin images. To me, they really show the intimate bond between parents and their newborn baby. And, of course, bonus that they brought in BOTH grandmothers. (I just adore "generation" portraits!) Here are a few of my (many) faves from Nailah's first Bright Beginnings session. I look forward to watching her grow over the next year! Newborn Baby R - Austin Newborn Photographer

I thought these three images would be a gorgeous wall grouping in little R's nursery. A 16x20 flanked by two 10x20 canvas wraps - so sweet, yet cool and contemporary, too!

Meet little Mr. "R" - he was the perfect newborn! And wow, his adorable older brother was a complete gentleman. I was totally impressed by how well he behaved. It's not easy to be a big brother of the ripe age of 3, but he is well on his way!

Babies, Babies, Babies! Austin Newborn Photographer

It's been a whirlwind of babies around here lately! I am behind in blogging (so sorry!!) but am trying to catch up. Starting with the beautiful baby "J." I photographed her darling big sister "A" two years ago as a newborn (sadly, on my old blog that no longer exists!) and little J is like a carbon copy! But with more HAIR! Mom & Dad brought in the same gorgeous handmade dress that Miss A wore and we recreated the image, just for grandma! Here are a few of my faves from their recent session...

Lovely Sisters - Austin Teen Photographer

I have been photographing these lovely girls since I first started my business in 2001 - they were really little then and it has been fun watching them grow up in front of my lens. Such gorgeous girls (mom, too, but she didn't get in this session) and so sweet. Here are a few of my faves from their recent outdoor session. Aren't their outfits cool? I love the blues and purples, they really POP with the outdoor - and the red hair!

Beautiful Senior - Austin Senior Photographer

Meet Beth, a gorgeous soon-to-be-graduate from Pflugerville High. She came in for our Designer session and we had a great time! She is a neat girl with lots of interests - and an awesome volleyball player - and some cool outfits! (Well, with the exception of the Aggie shirts, hehe. Jusk kidding, Beth!!) We spent some time in the studio and outside, then went over to the tracks to wrap up. I had so many faves from this session, it was hard to narrow down to a preview, but here goes ...

Extended Family Love - Austin Family Photographer

I loved meeting the extended family of one of my clients, the T family. You'll remember the gorgeous Michele from her maternity and little G has been in twice since he was born. Recently they brought in not only the grandparents, but the whole family! Great grandmother is 98 year young, and she looks fabulous. I hope that I am as spry as she is, when I get even close to that age. I love photographing these generational images, as I feel they are so important to pass down. And it's why I'll be gifting Miss Luella an image - her choice of either a whole-group or one of just she and little G - to set on her bedside table! Anyway, onto my faves. Model Contest - It's a Wrap - Austin Children's Photographer

As you may know, our studio recently participated in the first National Charity Model Search. The contest's goal was to discover America's cutest kid and to raise money for charity. It was a huge success, 2,000 model's images were submitted to the contest, and most importantly, the competition raised $164,775 for the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) foundation.
The competition was so much fun. We were thrilled to enter our community's cutest kids into the contest. The feedback from clients has been overwhelmingly positive. People were enthusiastic about my philanthropic efforts to partner with NILMDTS. So many folks have experienced the loss of a child or know someone who has. Raising money for NILMDTS was an effort everyone supported.
The 50 finalists have been selected. Photography and modeling industry experts will select the grand prizewinner, which will be announced on May 1st. The finalist gallery is available for viewing - just click here.
This has been such a positive experience that we plan on participating in the National Charity Model Search next year. I hope that just as many of you step up to partner with me in this fun endeavor, and that we raise even more money for NILMDTS in 2010.
While none of our own locals were city winners, we had TWO adorable guys in the top ten for Houston (our assigned city). You can view the top ten in each city by clicking here. I had the pleasure of working with the Bamsch family again recently. You'll remember both their lovely girls from last year. Kaleigh was a senior and had a designer indoor/outdoor session. Then Kerri came in later for our Back to School sessions in the fall. I love what Cindy came up with for their outfits - just perfectly coordinated, yet not all exactly the same. Meet Christian. He is representing our studio for the class of 2010. Isn't he handsome?? We had great fun in his first session - he'll come back again in late summer for a few more images to finish off his senior spirit album.
